Copyediting

£24 per 1000 words

This is the process of addressing errors and inconsistencies that affect the overall quality, accuracy and flow of your manuscript. During this process, your manuscript is made ready for publication and should take place before typesetting. Copyediting includes the review of spelling (according to regional English), punctuation, grammar, repetitions, omissions, consistency, syntax, semantics and continuity.

Our copyediting service does not include seeking author/copyright permissions, or fact-checking (however, we do make suggestions in order to ensure biblical accuracy/soundness where this is relevant). We do not provide editorial or developmental editing.

Typesetting

£10 per 1000 words (prices vary for low content/picture books*).

The interior formatting of your book contributes to the overall experience of your readers. Typesetting includes setting text, colours, images, tables, blockquotes, etc. in a clear and aesthetic layout, ready for printing and distribution.

Manuscripts must have completed their final stage of editing before requesting this service. Editing after typesetting is likely to alter the layout or page numbering; consequently, there is an additional charge of £50 to re-format a book once it has already been typeset.

*If you are looking to publish a children's picture book, you will need to have your illustrations ready when using this service. We do not provide illustrations for children's picture books but will use your illustrations and words to format your book. Picture book illustrations must be sourced separately.

Proofreading

£12 per 1000 words

This is the process of ensuring there are no typing or layout errors throughout the text and should take place after typesetting. Proofreading includes the reviewing of your book in it's final layout, checking spelling (according to regional English), punctuation, grammar, repetitions, omissions, spaces and consistent use of bold, italics, fonts and the like.

Proofreading does not include referencing/indexing, seeking permissions, content suggestions or paragraph restructuring. We may provide suggestions for sentences where the current meaning is unclear/ambiguous; however, additional costs may be incurred where editing is evidently required.

Cover Design

£120 to design

If you require a cover design, we are able to create this for you (otherwise we can point you in the right direction). Your book cover includes your front cover, back cover and spine, and must be designed to meet required printing specifications.

Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) Set-Up

£55 for paperback / £35 for e-book / £80 for both

Amazon is still a giant when it comes to online bookselling. For this reason, KDP still remains one of our favourite print-on-demand platforms that we advise our clients to use for publishing onto the Amazon marketplace. If you’re unfamiliar with the KDP platform or would simply like us to complete the set-up process for you, we are able to do so for the fees stipulated above.

Ingram Spark Set-Up

£90 for hardback / £70 for paperback / £140 for both

If you desire a hardcover format for your book, we recommend using Ingram Spark. Ingram Spark is a Lightning Source company providing high-quality printing and access to the world's largest book distribution network. If you select the "global distribution" option on KDP, it will actually be Ingram Spark that KDP utilise. This is why we recommend that if you have your own ISBN (for your paperback book), to use Ingram Spark directly for your global distribution needs (as book retailers/libraries are more likely to buy from Ingram Spark than they are from KDP), but to use KDP directly for the best access to Amazon's market. The set-up process for Ingram Spark is much more detailed than KDP; therefore, our set-up fees are priced accordingly. In addition, Ingram Spark also has a set-up fee of $49 (which is charged separately and directly through your Ingram Spark account).

We are not yet providing set-up support for e-books through Ingram Spark.
